1. Service Description

Braided Ink (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an AI-powered e-reader that generates scene images as you read. We offer a curated catalog of illustrated editions — books we have the rights to publish, paired with AI-generated scene art in a professionally chosen style.

2. User Accounts

To use Braided Ink, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access other users’ data or accounts
• Copy, redistribute, or commercially use Braided Ink content outside of the platform
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Interfere with the operation of the service
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our AI models or prompts

4. Book Content and AI Processing

Illustrated editions are books we make available to all readers with a professionally curated art style. They include public domain works and books from authors and publishers who have authorized distribution through our platform. We host the book text for reading and use AI services to generate scene images that are shared across all readers of that edition. Image generation happens once when we ingest a book — your reading activity is not sent to AI services.

5. Purchases

Access to illustrated editions requires a purchase through Braided Ink. A purchase grants you access to read the book and view its AI-generated scene images within the Braided Ink platform for as long as you maintain an active account.

6. Generated Images — Ownership

Scene images in our illustrated editions are shared across all readers and are licensed to you for personal use — you may save and enjoy them, but they are not exclusively yours.

7. AI Content Disclaimer

All images are generated by AI models and are interpretive, not canonical. They may not precisely match the text descriptions in the book. AI-generated content may occasionally produce unexpected, inaccurate, or imperfect results. We continuously work to improve image quality but cannot guarantee perfection.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your reading history, style preferences, and saved preferences will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy. Access to any purchased illustrated editions will also end upon account deletion.

9. Limitation of Liability

Braided Ink is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
