Refund Policy
Effective: June 22, 2026
When you buy an illustrated edition at Braided Ink, it’s yours — to keep, to re-read, in every style and on every device, with no subscription and no expiry. And if an edition isn’t right for you, we want returning it to be just as easy as buying it was.
1. Self-serve refunds
You can refund a purchase yourself, instantly and without explanation, when both of these are true:
- It has been 30 days or fewer since you bought it, and
- You have read less than 20% of the book.
Open Account → Orders, find the edition, and tap refund. That’s it — no form to fill out, no reason to give, no waiting on us. We set the read limit at roughly the same place as the free sample every book already offers, so a self-serve refund only ever covers what you could have read for free anyway.
2. Beyond those limits
Past 30 days, or further than 20% in? Reach out anyway. We read every request, and when something went wrong on our end — an edition that didn’t render the way it should, a book that wasn’t what it promised, or simply an experience that fell short — we’ll make it right. A problem with one of our editions is our problem, not yours.
The simplest way to start is right from the order: Account → Orders → Get help with this order, which brings your purchase details along so you don’t have to. Or write to us directly — see Contact, below.
3. How refunds are issued
Refunds go back to your original payment method through our payment processor, Stripe. Once a refund is issued, your bank typically posts it within five to ten business days. When a purchase is refunded, full access to that edition ends and the book returns to its free sample — you’re always welcome to buy it again later.
4. Contact
For anything refund-related, visit Support or email us at [email protected]. We’re a small team and we read everything that comes in.
